Every family has its own traditions when it comes to making Easter eggs, and while chocolate Easter eggs are the most common, we have our own version – floral jelly eggs. This idea stemmed from my desire to create a healthier alternative to traditional Easter treats, combined with my love for jelly.
For this recipe, it's important to plan ahead, as you'll need to collect some empty eggshells. If you have allergies to egg products, don't worry – you can simply use egg-shaped molds instead of actual eggshells.
Special note: You can collect the eggshells when you prepare any egg dishes by making a hole at the bottom of an egg and washing inside the eggshell. You will need at least 12 eggshells for this recipe.

Where to buy Konnyaku jelly powder? It is normally available at Asian grocery stores. If you can’t find Konnyaku jelly powder at your local store, you can use gelatin powder as a substitute. However, please check the usage guide, as the amount of water used may differ from Konnyaku jelly powder.
Ingredients:
- 150 grams Konnyaku jelly powder
- 1 gram malic acid
- 650 ml water
- 1 florafo Rose & Osmanthus flower ball
Instructions:
Brewing the Flower Ball:
- Brew the Rose & Osmanthus flower ball with 85°C boiled water and set aside to cool down.
- Once cooled, use scissors to cut the rose petals into small pieces, discarding the stamen and receptacle (middle part of the flower).
Cooking the Konnyaku Jelly:
- Pour the Konnyaku jelly powder into a pot.
- Add the cooled brewed Rose & Osmanthus tea to the pot and stir continuously while adding to prevent lumps from forming.
- Bring the mixture to a boil under a strong flame. After boiling, reduce heat to low and continue to boil and stir for another 3 minutes.
- Turn off the flame, add malic acid, and stir until dissolved.
Setting the Konnyaku Jelly:
- Pour the mixture into the eggshells or molds until full.
- Allow the jelly to fully cool and set before placing it in the refrigerator. For best results, refrigerate overnight.
You can serve the jellies without peeling off the eggshell and let your friends and family enjoy a surprise when they peel them off.
